The decision underscores a growing divide between the outspoken tech industry conservative and Silicon Valley.

Thiel, 50, was a co-founder of PayPal and an early investor in Facebook - where he still sits on the board - and he has helped finance several other tech startups.

He'd not only be moving house into a Los Angeles property he bought six years ago; he'd also move Thiel Capital and Thiel Foundation south as well. In a 2016 email originally reported by The New York Times, Hastings described Thiel's support of Trump as "catastrophically bad judgment".

Israel's Education Minister Naftali Bennett also said Ahed and Nour Tamimi deserved to "finish their lives in prison". Seventeen-year-old Tamimi faces 12 charges, including assault and incitement, at the Ofer Military Court.

Thiel co-founded payment service PayPal and is known for funding the Hulk Hogan lawsuit that led to the shutdown of online news site Gawker. He made a 1.25-million US dollars donation to help Trump and delivered a keynote speech at the Republican National Convention.

Thiel bankrolled the suit because he was irate that Gawker had outed him as being gay in a 2007 story.

'Silicon Valley is a one-party state, ' Thiel said last month. "That's when you get in trouble politically in our society, when".

In addition, those sources say Thiel has considered resigning from the board of directors at Facebook amid quarrels with founder Mark Zuckerberg and political differences with another board member over Thiel's support of Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. He has been harsher in private, criticizing Silicon Valley as "mono-cultural" and "toxic" with a high cost of living and tendency for group think, according to people familiar with his thinking.

Fellow Facebook board member Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix, in a 2016 email called Thiel's support of Trump "mystifying" and "catastrophically bad judgment" and questioned whether he should remain on Facebook's board, the New York Times reported previous year.

In Los Angeles, Thiel will reportedly attempt to create a new conservative media outlet.
