The senior Iranian official made the statement Monday in response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the Munich Security Conference the previous day, during which he warned that Israel will not hesitate to attack if threatened.

"Israel will not allow Iran's regime to put a noose of terror around our neck", he added.

"Today, we can see that the United States and Israel have become hilarious actors by displaying the body of a missile at the White House or the wing of a flying object (in Munich) and seeking to describe them as Iranian missile and drone", the top general said.

Zuma said that he received no official notice that a motion of no confidence in him would take place in Parliament on Thursday. ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu said the party would amend the motion already tabled by the EFF, making it a joint motion.

Netanyahu singled out Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in his speech at the security conference, as he lifted up a piece of the drone's wreckage.

"I have a message to the tyrants of Tehran: Do not test Israel's resolve", Netanyahu said at the Munich Security Conference. "We will act without hesitation to defend ourselves". Since the start of the civil war in neighboring Syria, Israel has regularly intervened to check the expansion of Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah, which has backed the Bashar al-Assad-led Syrian regime in Damascus.

Again referring to Zarif, who is scheduled to speak later in Munich, the Israeli leader said: "No doubt Mr Zarif will brazenly deny Iran's involvement in Syria".

In response to the drone incursion, Israeli Air Force jets targeted a mobile command center military officials claimed had operated the unmanned aerial vehicle. One of those planes, an F-16 fighter jet, was shot down by the Syria forces on return from that mission. The aircraft crash-landed in Israel.

Dismissing Netanyahu's address as a "theatrical move and a childish game", Rezaei claimed that "US and Israeli leaders don't know Iran and don't understand the power of resistance, and therefore they continuously face defeat".

Netanyahu compared Iran's expansionism to European appeasement of the Nazis during World War Two. "Well-intentioned leaders only made war more hard and costly", he said.
