Tom Hardy Makes His Debut in 'Venom' Trailer

We already knew that the upcoming Venom movie would not feature Tom Holland's Spider-Man, or indeed any Spider-Man.

The all-black poster is punctuated by Venom's eyes, perhaps the most defining characteristic of the symbiote other than a prehensile tongue and rows of fangs.

Although the trailer doesn't offer a first look at Hardy as Venom - it is just a teaser trailer, after all - it does give some insight into the storyline and how Hardy will be infected with the symbiote.

And according to Tom Hardy's Instagram, Venom finished shooting just more than a week ago.

Venom will tell the story of how reporter Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) looks into the mysterious happenings of The Life Foundation, a survivalist organization for the wealthy elite. So the Venom film makers have made this teaser to rush it into cinema screenings to get as much exposure as possible.

Sony dropped the first teaser trailer for "Venom" on Thursday.

The film also stars Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing along with Amy Pascal. The fact that production wrapped so quickly was an interesting move, and now the fact that we've been given a trailer without Venom, is another interesting one.
