India put in an all-round performance with bat and ball to beat Bangladesh by six wickets in their second match of the ongoing Nidahas Twenty20 Tri-Series in Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan scored highest 55 runs for India.

Chasing 140 for victory, India rode on Dhawan's 43-ball 55 to achieve their target with eight balls to spare at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium.

Bangladesh will next take on Sri Lanka in the third match of the tournament, which is timed to commemorate the host island's 70 years of independence, on Saturday. India were requiring 32 runs off last six overs when Raina got out.

India have met Bangladesh five times in the format and have won all the matches.

Tamim Iqbal won a review against an LBW decision in the fifth over, as the ball has pitched just outside leg, and immediately hit Thakur for back-to-back fours in the next two balls.

However, Dhawan and Suresh Raina stabilised the innings with a 68-run partnership, during which Dhawan brought up his half-century, before Raina was caught by Mehedy Hasan Miraz at square leg off the bowling of Rubel for 28.

On a slow track, all-rounder Vijay Shankar's (2/32 in 4 overs) wicket-to-wicket stuff proved to be handy even though he had at least three catches dropped off his bowling.

Dhawan finally fell to Taskin Ahmed's right-arm medium pace in the 17th over but Manish Pandey, 27 not out, carried the team home.
