With Sports Ministry getting down to the business of reviewing the Commonwealth Games-bound list of players and officials, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Narinder Batra asserted there was not a single official included for a "fun ride" and that they were there to take care of the athletes.
The IOA had sent the ministry a list of 222 athletes, 74 support staff and 21 extra officials, who Batra claimed, will accompany the contingent at the expense of their respective National Sports Federations.
The official also said that this does not mean that government is cutting down support to the athletes as the ministry has sanctioned 10 extra coaches for different disciplines as requested by the concerned federations.
Donald Trump Jr. had affair with 'Apprentice' contestant Aubrey O'Day
Page Six adds that "Trump Sr. stepped in when he heard about the relationship with O'Day and told Don Jr .to 'knock it off'". "When it started, they were very serious all of a sudden", the source close to Aubrey told the magazine.
"We haven't yet had an official confirmation from the Ministry, but to do this just 15 days from the Games is absurd", said Batra. Extra officials in every team are required.
Those being termed "extra" officials were those whose services are required but are above the permitted number and not passengers on the squad, Batra told reporters at a farewell function here for the athletes.
"I don't know why the sports ministry is raising these irrelevant issues".
Stocks plummet on fears of US-China trade war
In a follow-up statement , a ministry official said China would "take all necessary measures" to defend its rights and interests. The official sought to directly correlate the "two million more jobs created in China" to "two million jobs lost in the U.S".
"Why is the government making so much noise?"
"We have key worldwide events lined up throughout the year and a performance like this by youngsters of the squad bodes well", Raninder Singh said. "We will try to ensure that the player-official ratio is maintained", said the official. Rule says parents can not be named managers like in the past, but Batra said the Badminton Federation of India (BAI) taking the parents of the two Olympic medallists should not be made an issue. It is taxpayers money and I don't think their presence at these multi-sporting events enhance the performance of the athletes.
Hynd is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "My recent re-classification in my main swimming events from S8 to S9 has come as huge shock to me, having not previously been near to an S9 classification in all my years of competing". He said the ministry should learn from the L Sarita Devi incident during the 2014 Asian Games where the boxer did not have any manager to fall back on after getting a raw deal in her semifinal loss. "Instead the ministry should take responsibility for its actions", Batra said.

Referring to the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain, Abe told Putin that the use of chemical weapons was not acceptable. May asked Abe to support her in Britain's row with Russia over the poisoning of a former Russian spy and his daughter.
According to the list, the ministry has omitted the names of the Chief Medical Officer and an assistant physiotherapist of the IOA besides other officials of the National Sports Federations (NSFs).
