Cuomo, during an unrelated event in Long Island Wednesday, disputed Nixon's claim, noting that in January he announced plans to have the state Health Department study the health and economic health impacts of legalizing marijuana. & Rakim may have famously released "Eric B. Is President" in 1986, but the hip-hop legends are now all about Cynthia Nixon for governor.

Nixon may not succeed in her primary challenge against Cuomo, but her platform's popularity among progressives may wind up shifting Cuomo on the issue of marijuana legalization. Eighty percent of people arrested in NY for marijuana, Nixon said, are black or Latino.

FTC warns companies that using "warranty void if removed" stickers is illegal
In its letters, the agency provided three examples of what it deems to be "questionable provisions" found on different products. Companies can't put warranty stickers on their products and claim the warranty is void if you remove the sticker, the FTC says.

Last month Cynthia Nixon, best known for playing Miranda on Sex and The City, announced that she is running for governor of NY. Nixon added that legalizing pot use for non-medical reasons would end "a key front in the racist war on drugs" and generate hundreds of millions of dollars of tax revenue for the state through legal marijuana sales. State statistics show that fifth-degree marijuana possession arrests are 48 percent black, 38 percent Latino and nine percent white.

"The consequences follow people for the rest of their lives, making it harder to get jobs or housing, and for noncitizens, putting them in the crosshairs of deportation", she says. Cuomo called for a panel to investigate the possibility of recreational legalization in NY previous year (the state authorized medical marijuana in 2014), but before that he has been a longstanding opponent to legalization. If there was more political courage coming out of Albany we would have done this already.

"We now have states that have legalized marijuana".

Trainer's room: Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo missed his second consecutive game with back tightness and is day to day. He allowed just one earned run, four hits and six walks in six innings in his first start against Cincinnati.

Nixon advocates for a number of other progressive issues and has made fixing inequality in NY a key part of her campaign. Isn't it time we legalize it for everybody else? Colorado, Oregon, California, Washington, Alaska, Nevada, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont and Washington, D.C. have all legalized recreational marijuana.

For his part, de Blasio said he was a bit hesitant.
