Matt Harvey to the bullpen a blessing in serious disguise

"We haven't made that determination yet", Callaway said.

"I'm a starting pitcher".

Right now, all things are not even, and it's not the little things that are costing Matt Harvey.

After a rough start to the season in the rotation, the New York Mets have demoted right-hander Matt Harvey to the bullpen. In his 15.2 innings and 1-1 mark this season, Newcomb has put up a 4.02 ERA with 22 Ks and eight walks.

The White House said this week he wanted to avoid disrupting the service with added security. The elder Bush and the couple's son, former president George W.

At the same time, I love how Mickey Callaway and pitching coach Dave Eiland are handling Harvey. A manager in the Major League Baseball must place the best team out there, day in and day out with a keen eye on the bigger, 162-game picture.

Harvey wasn't receptive to a question about possibly moving to the bullpen. His future is still in his own hands and it's up to him if he will soon land back in the New York Mets starting rotation.

Indeed, the pitcher whom SNY's Andy Martino on Friday referred to as "a divisive figure among teammates" with "few allies left in the Mets' organization or fan base", did throw a season-high six innings and season-best 96 pitches on Thursday. On the heels of back-to-back losses, the Mets chose Harvey.

Callaway, as seen above, thinks Harvey can help the Mets out of the bullpen due to his strike-throwing ability.

Saturday is International Record Store Day and Barrie will join the festivities that reach every continent, except Antarctica. The Grand Rapids location offered free crack fries with any purchase if someone had a same-day receipt from a record store.

The over is 5-1 in the Mets' last 6 road games vs. a right-handed starter, 7-2 in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than.600, 7-3 in their last 10 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and 4-0 in deGrom's last 4 starts with 4 days of rest.

Callaway said the conversation on Saturday with Harvey was "tough" and "not comfortable" given the pitcher's former stature on the team. Harvey is the odd man out after posting a 6.00 ERA through his first four starts. Severino had a decent rookie year after his August 2015 call-up going 5-3 with a 2.89 ERA, but 2016 was a different story. Upon his return in July, he pitched out of the bullpen for three games giving up no earned runs (one run) on one hit in 8 1/3 innings of work. This should be a pretty good matchup and a fun one to watch, but all things considered I'm going with the Mets. Even if he can not return to the level he was at in 2013, him proving himself in the bullpen, working his way back into a starting role, and producing quality outings will give the Mets a huge boost to their pitching staff.

Callaway also said it was "inevitable" that Harvey will start again this season.
