President Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong-un spent Monday huddling with advisers in luxury Singapore hotels less than half a mile apart, readying for a nuclear summit that could define the fate of millions, and their own political futures.
Trump descended from Air Force One into the steamy Singapore night, greeting officials and declaring he felt "very good" before being whisked away to his hotel via a route lined with police and photo-snapping onlookers.
Mr Lee was accompanied at the IMC by Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, and Minister S Iswaran and Senior Minister of State Sim Ann from the Ministry of Communications and Information.
At the hotel lobby, grim-faced North Korean security guards warned other hotel guests not to take pictures as Kim walked to his Mercedes Benz limousine.

Trump, who is staying in a separate hotel, the Shangri-La, is due to meet Lee on Monday.

Kim told Lee: "The entire world is watching the historic summit between the DPRK and the United States of America, and thanks to your honest efforts. we were able to complete the preparation for the historic summit".
The official said Trump and Kim would hold a one-on-one meeting on Tuesday that could last up to two hours.

Trump had called Kim "Little Rocket Man" and threatened to unleash "fire and fury like the world has never seen" on North Korea as it conducted several ballistic missile tests in defiance of global warnings.

Trump, speaking in Canada on Saturday, said any agreement at the summit would be "spur of the moment", underscoring the uncertain outcome of what he called a "mission of peace".
North Korea had also threatened to strike Guam, an American territory in the Pacific Ocean.
Trump hopes the landmark talks will kick-start a process that eventually see Kim give up his nuclear weapons in an irreversible manner that can be verified internationally.
Kim met with Lee on Sunday.
But last month, Trump abruptly cancelled the Singapore summit, citing the "tremendous anger and open hostility" by Pyongyang. "The scale is bigger, the number of journalists coming is huge, even more than what we had for the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and World Bank meetings (in Singapore in 2006)", he said.
"I feel that Kim Jong Un wants to do something great for his people", Mr Trump said at a press conference in Charlevoix, Canada, where he attended a summit of leaders from the Group of Seven nations.
