Woman Arrested After Traveling With Children Inside of Pet Kennels

A Memphis, Tennessee grandmother has been arrested after video surfaced (see below) of her transporting two young children in pet kennels inside her vehicle.

She was reportedly charged with two counts of child endangerment. Temperatures in the area reached about 35 degrees Celsius.

Leimome Cheeks was apprehended by police after the children were spotted on Elvis Presley Boulevard, in Memphis, yesterday afternoon, Fox 17 News reports.

In the video, a child is seen climbing out of the trunk of the vehicle from the kennel, according to Cleveland 19 News.

While the exact cause of death is not known, Mr Rocquigny said the television personality's suicide didn't appear to be planned. Bourdain was found unresponsive in his hotel room by a close friend, French chef Eric Ripert , Friday morning, CNN said.

Neighbors of Leimome Cheeks expressed shock, saying she was a 'very nice woman'. She's such a nice lady, " neighbor Skylark Blake said.

The children, ages seven and eight, were questioned by police following their grandmother's arrest.

The video was filmed by a concerned citizen who passed by.

The children were told to ride inside the kennel because there was no room inside the vehicle.

In an affidavit, Cheeks admitted to placing the children in the pet kennels and transporting them from Whitehaven to Collierville to Downtown Memphis.

The woman is being charged with two counts of child endangerment, according to Cleveland 19. I only met her like once maybe twice. "It's a huge mistake, get some help yeah but put her in jail, it's hard to say", Skylarr Blake said. "For them to be in the hot vehicle like that in cages is sad", neighbor Nikita Blake said.

Police said the children were 7 and 8 years old.

They also said sitting in the kennels was very hot, because there were no vents for air.
