Chelsea has signed Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for a world-record €80 million ($92.8 million) fee from Athletic Bilbao, the Premier League club said on Wednesday.

Thibaut Courtois has been reminded of a time when he hurled taunts at Real Madrid fans, by their local rivals, Atletico Madrid.

In making a move for Kepa the Blues eclipsed the previous world-record fee for a goalkeeper that was set by Liverpool in their acquisition of Roma's Alisson earlier this summer.

He later deleted the post but again thanked everyone involved with Chelsea once he had completed the move to Madrid.

Some Atletico Madrid fans are planning to give Thibaut Courtois a freaky reception when he plays at the Wanda Metropolitano for arch-rivals Real. The Belgium worldwide has less than 12 months remaining on his contract and this may witness Los Blancos acquire him for a knockdown price of around £32m.

"It's a very important decision for me, for my career, and also for my personal life", the goalkeeper said.

The reigning European champions forked out €35m (£31m/$40m) plus a season-long loan move for Mateo Kovacic to Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid have confirmed that Courtois will undergo a medical on Thursday morning, before signing a six-year deal and being presented at 1pm local time (midday BST).

Trump's Last-Minute Rally Pushes Republican Balderson to Ohio Win
Polls closed at 7:30 p.m., leaving Democrat Danny O'Connor and Republican Troy Balderson to await their fates in the tight race. The day's races, like dozens before them, pitted Trump's fiery supporters against the Democratic Party's anti-Trump resistance.

"I hope they remember me fondly, and I wish them all the best". I realise the game is different in England but it is also true that a lot of Spanish players already play in the Premier League and they have given me fantastic references about playing here.

"I am really happy and excited to be here at Chelsea", he told Chelseafc.com, per Sky Sports.

Kepa is second choice for Spain behind Manchester United's David de Gea.

"In terms of being the most expensive keeper in the world, it's something I don't think about", Kepa said.

Pogba Agent ‘To Broker’ Barcelona Move
Still, the Mail says that Pogba has sent United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward a message to inform him of his decision. However, neither were Juventus two years ago when a return to Old Trafford was engineered.

"And then of course there are many great players here, like N'Golo Kante, (Eden) Hazard, (Olivier) Giroud".
