India airliner turns back due to bleeding passengers

At least 30 Indian passengers received treatment when Jet Airways flight 9W 697 from Mumbai to Jaipur turned back shortly after take off.

Another doctor Amol Patel, who treated the passengers, told ANI, "The hospital received around five patients between 11 am to 12 noon today".

Cabin pressure is thus maintained by a flight's crew to ensure comfort for everyone aboard.

The Boeing 737 aircraft returned to Mumbai due to "loss of cabin pressure" and the pilots have been taken off duty pending investigation, a Jet Airways spokesperson said. "Some have nose bleeding, few have ear bleeding and some are complaining of headache", he added.

According to sources, the IT officials are scrutinising the airline's records for the last four years to find out if there has been any siphoning of funds, and to also look at the issue of suspicious bogus expenses booked to group entities, if any. This survey comes at a time when the government is investigating allegations of money being siphoned off from the airline.

A day after the incident, a complaint was lodged against the staff of the said flight.
