Mac Miller Dead Aged 26

Celebrities, rappers, and fans took to Twitter to pay tribute to late rapper Mac Miller, who died at 26-years-old due to an apparent drug overdose.

Los Angeles police said they responded to a report of a deceased person at a home on the same block where Miller is listed as a resident, and had turned the case over to the coroner's office.

Mac Miller has been pronounced dead at the scene after an overdose months after his split from Ariana Grande, TMZ reports.

Less than 24 hours before his death, Miller tweeted details of his upcoming "Swimming" tour, noting, "I wish it started tomorrow". He began his career as a rapper as a teen, and his independent 2011 debut album Blue Slide Park went on to top the Billboard 200 album chart, putting him on the map at an early age.

The rapper, whose most popular songs included "Loud", "Smile Back" and a collaboration with Grande called "The Way", released his latest album "Swimming" this summer.

Mac had always been open about his struggles with substance abuse in his music, in particular his largely autobiographical 2014 mixtape, Faces.

Posting an image of the pair on Instagram, Sheeran said Miller's untimely death was "so heartbreaking".

Four years later, he signed to Warner Bros. for a lucrative contract that led him to become a headline star.
