InsideHoops.com December 28, 2018 The Cleveland Cavaliers today signed restricted free agent guard Patrick McCaw to a multi-year offer sheet, according to Cavaliers General Manager Koby Altman. McCaw declared for the NBA Draft after playing two years collegiately at UNLV. Will the Warriors match?
In his first two seasons in the NBA, McCaw won two titles with the Warriors, averaging 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 128 games.
They shouldn't match, according to a second source.

Haynes noted that Golden State has not budged on their stance to maintain McCaw's rights and, "teams have received word of the Warriors' intentions and remain hesitant to submit an offer sheet". McCaw also played in 21 postseason games (three starts) for the Warriors.
If the Warriors choose to keep McCaw, it could cost substantially more than just his salary figure because of luxury-tax ramifications.
But paying him $3 million over the next two years may be too steep a price to pay for a short-term fix.
Pochettino demands consistency from title-chasing Spurs
Cardiff: Etheridge , Ecuele Manga, Bamba, Morrison, Cunningham, Gunnarsson , Reid , Victor Camarasa, Arter, Josh Murphy, Paterson. But Spurs were quickly ahead from a move which Kane started and finished for his 18th goal of the season.
Now would McCaw's motivation be the same in Cleveland?
The second year isn't guaranteed, but with the Warriors needing to focus on Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson during free agency this summer, McCaw's contract could eat up some of the cap space needed to bring back one or both guys for next season. A championship team might as well stick with players who definitely want to be there.
