Assembly for the Manhattan Dresser is so simple, even a child can set it up without any safety hazards. With user friendly directions and easy to connect parts that do not require heavy amount of tools, the Manhattan can be set up in a manner of 30 minutes or less. Most of the parts are already assembled together, so there are not a lot of necessary parts to put together. The individual drawers are built on a roller glide mechanism, so the drawers wont fall out of the dresser when pulled to its maximum distance. Most people will tell you that this is an improvement over the old way drawers were built. Drawers without the roller glide, especially on 6 dresser drawers, are a safety hazard not just for adults, but children as well. Children can safely open a drawer on this product without adult supervision.
Dressers with mirrors are usually placed in the bedroom as "vanity stations". Most dressers with mirrors are low, about 2-3 feet tall, with a slot for a low stool or chair. The cabinets and drawers flank the space for the chair. These dressers have big tops that function as tables to place cosmetics and other trinkets. The cabinets and drawers usually are not deep and spacious as smaller articles are usually placed in them. Newer designs of dressers with mirrors take out the space for the chair and replace them with cabinets. Furthermore, newer designs are taller and have more spacious cabinets. Newer designs seem to combine the functionalities of a vanity station and a storage space for clothes and bigger articles. These dressers are bigger, and so these are suited for bigger rooms with more space. But there are smaller and more compact dressers with mirrors available in the market today. Although smaller, they still provide the same function.
One of the most important things you need to do when looking for the perfect dresser is choose a dresser based on your specific type of bedroom. You need to make sure that the dresser you choose fits in with the overall décor of your bedroom. There are lots of really beautiful dressers available in different styles so it shouldnt be difficult to find one to fit in with your bedroom. Does your bedroom have more of a traditional feel? If so you should choose a dresser with a classic, traditional look. Does your bedroom have the elegant feel of a Victorian theme? Try a dresser with a romantic feel enhanced with beautiful attention to the detailed carvings.
The color you choose for your dresser is just as important as the style you select. The wrong color dresser can totally throw off the look of your bedroom. For example, a bright red dresser would be the wrong choice for a bedroom with a classic, traditional theme and a neutral colored dresser would look all wrong in a modern, contemporary bedroom. Most dressers are available in wood stains like oak, cherry and mahogany. If you find yourself a little unsure about color a wood stain is probably the safest route to choose as they are the easiest to blend in with just about any style of room. No matter what color you choose make sure its not overpowering the rest of the room. Another important thing to take into consideration when purchasing a dresser is the size dresser you need.
Shabby chic dressers and sideboards make a fantastic addition to any style kitchen, contemporary or vintage. The shabby chic style seems to have become very popular recently, as many home and design magazines feature this style regularly, and interior designers on TV are all using it for home makeovers! If you like this style of furniture its a great way to add some originality and individuality to your home, as most shabby chic dressers that you can buy are re-used or up-cycled from antiques or second-hand dressers. Dressers were first popular in the seventeenth century in Europe and during this period furniture was handcrafted and generally well-made. Antique or vintage furniture was usually built to last and to be hard-wearing. It is only in recent years that we have become a nation of flat-pack-loving consumers!
